At Flagger Force, safety is more than just what happens on the road. It’s about protecting the whole person. Every day, our crews work in challenging environments: unpredictable traffic, changing weather, and long hours that demand constant focus. These stressors can affect more than physical well-being. They can impact mental health too.

Why Mental Health Matters for Our Team

Flaggers take on an important responsibility: keeping communities safe. That level of focus and vigilance can be draining, especially when combined with the physical demands of the job. It’s natural to feel stress, fatigue, or even isolation at times. That’s why we want every team member to know it’s okay to talk about it, and it’s okay to ask for help.

At Flagger Force, we recognize that supporting mental health isn’t just about addressing challenges when they arise. It’s about creating a culture where employees know they are valued, supported, and never alone.

Our Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

To provide that support, we offer a free, confidential Employee Assistance Program (EAP) through BHS. This benefit is available to our employees and their household members.

The EAP provides:

  • 24/7 confidential support from trained professionals
  • Up to three counseling sessions per issue, free of charge
  • Guidance on a wide range of topics, including:
    • Stress, anxiety, and depression
    • Family or relationship concerns
    • Financial or legal questions
    • Grief and loss
    • Work–life balance

No matter what you’re facing, whether it’s work-related stress or personal challenges, the EAP can connect you with resources and professionals who can help.

We’ve Got Your Back

Just like we have each other’s backs in the field, we have each other’s backs off the road, too. Flagger Force’s commitment isn’t just about physical safety. It’s about standing together as a team and offering our team members the support they need to do their jobs safely.

When you take care of yourself, you’re better able to stay focused, keep others safe, and bring your best to work and home. Reaching out for support is a sign of strength, and it shows the same courage and commitment that flaggers demonstrate on the job every day.

Your work keeps communities moving safely. Our responsibility is to make sure our employees feel supported, both on and off the job. If you ever need help, remember, you don’t have to go through it alone. Flagger Force and the EAP are here for you and your family.

If you or someone you know is struggling or in crisis, help is available. Call or text 988 to connect with the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, or chat via 988Lifeline. You’ll be connected with trained counselors who are ready to listen, provide support, and help you find the resources you need.
