Flagger Force

Jason Goss Employee Spotlight

Jason Goss, Area Supervisor for Central Pennsylvania, has spent the past 11 years growing with Flagger Force, forging lasting relationships, and leaving an unmistakable mark on the teams and communities he serves. His journey to leadership began not with a plan, but with a leap. Stepping away from a career in cabinet manufacturing, he applied and that’s when his journey with Flagger Force began, and though his path to leadership wasn’t a straight line, it was a decision to bet on himself.

Starting as a Crew Member in Central Pennsylvania, Jason’s first week on the job was intense. “I was placed on one of our toughest jobs right away, working long hours in State College,” he recalls. But rather than being discouraged by the long days and the high stakes, he leaned into the challenge. Under the guidance of Del Haines, a seasoned Advanced Crew Leader at the time, Jason began to see the potential for something more. “Del kept pushing me to try more, and eventually, I listened to him and decided to go for it.”

Within a few months, Jason was promoted from a Crew Member to a Crew Leader, then quickly advanced to an Advanced Crew Leader. “As soon as I got into a Flagger Force truck, I took every job I could. I wanted to learn everything from arrow panel setups to more advanced highway jobs. You name it, I tried it.” His appetite for growth and deep respect for safety helped pave the way to his current role as an Area Supervisor.

But Jason’s story isn’t just about personal advancement, and while he has accomplished a lot, his true impact lies in how he empowers others to grow.

“I’ve always believed in helping people grow,” he said. “When someone new starts, I make sure they’re paired with a strong leader. I’ll spend time on-site, talk through their setups, and walk them through the next step. Whether it’s about promoting into a truck, learning to be a leader, or building confidence on a work site, I’m there.”

His leadership is hands-on and rooted in encouragement. He assures peers to have confidence and to not second-guess themselves. “Trust your training, trust your gut. But, if you’re ever unsure, call me and I’ll be there.”

And his impact doesn’t stop with employees. Jason is also a respected partner to clients across his region. Known for picking up the phone at any hour, he helps plan work zones, fills emergency orders, and ensures clients can count on Flagger Force to deliver. “I have a strong relationship with my clients because I am like a good neighbor, always there or close by and ready to help. I make it easy for them, and they know they can rely on me.”

Jason credits his success to the relationships he’s built—with his team, his clients, and the communities he serves. “I’ve always believed in showing up, doing what you say you’re going to do, and being someone people can count on. That’s what makes the difference.”

When asked what advice he gives to new employees, Jason doesn’t hesitate, “you’re going to have good days; you’re going to have bad days. Stick it out. You show up for work every day—you can make a good living, and this can be a good place to work for you.”

For Jason, being a leader means more than managing job sites, it means showing up with a positive attitude, even when the days are long, and the stakes are high. He stays with Flagger Force because of the people. He’s built something meaningful with his crews, with clients, and within the community. For him, it’s never been about just clocking in and out—it’s about making a real difference.
